The Polymer Materials and Engineering major, which was established in October 2000, is one of the characteristic engineering majors offered by Northeast Forestry University. It was designated a provincial key major in 2011, entered the ranks of key construction majors of Northeast Forestry University in 2013, was awarded the professional certification of engineering education in China in 2019 and was recognized as a provincial first-class undergraduate professional construction major in 2020. Building on the discipline Biomaterial Engineering, which was approved and established in 2003, the Biomaterial Engineering is a second-level doctoral discipline under the first-level discipline of Forestry Engineering at Northeast Forestry University and is one of the disciplines in the national "first-class" discipline construction.
